it's been a while...

Yes it has. A long while.

So let's talk about Easter, recent as it was. I travelled up to Manchester with Dan and Stace (and Lydia joined us) for to see the Manchester Passion, and if you didn't see it, try and find someone who taped it. It was VERY good, and you can see me if you look for Dan (the fuzzy hair by the albert memorial) and then look a little to the left.

So then we went to Burnley and stayed with Lydia's dad who is a caterer at Burnley football club. We actually went to visit him at his workplace and had a look around the stadium. It's fairly small (not a great deal bigger than Yeovil) but it has the oldest trophy that is still played for in football which is very big and carefully concealed behind a glass screen.

On the second night, we visited Blackpool, and wondered up and down the seafront. At one point, we went along one of the piers right up to the end. Out there, in the shadow of a resteraunt/cafe, was probably the most peaceful time of the whole weekend. We were only a few steps away from the garishness and schmaltzy crap that makes up most of the 'pleasure' beach, and yetr the only thing I could hear was the calm swoosh of the waves breaking on the beach. I probably could have stayed there all night, but we were only there for a minute or two. Oh, and chips up north are really no better than the southern ones, and with gravy? Not that great.

On the last day (Easter sunday in fact) we visited York and took Courtney around the cathedral, but really didn't have time to get a decent look.

And finally. What post would be complete without something about Dr Who? All I have to say is that this new series is great!
